Listen to the dialogue as many times as you like but avoid looking into the transcript for as long as possible!
Read carefully the tasks and questions prior to listening. Then start listening the text on the recording. You may not understand everything the first time but try not to look at the transcript. First activities on the recording usually aim to help you develop your listening skills by suggesting things to concentrate on and listen out for main point in the texts. Usually at the beginner or elementary levels you'll be given the opportunity to repeat key sentences and phrases from the dialogues. Sometimes you may need to look at new vocabulary before listening. Listen to the texts or dialogues as many times as you like, but as long as possible try not to refer to the transcripts.
Once you have listened to new material, take some time to work through new Vocabulary and Grammar doing a necessary exercises in order to get familiar with it and understand how it works.
Last but not least is to practice everything you have learnt by speaking! Practice as much as possible!
